BADGE EXPLANATION

¨ Crown - The crown is significant in a number of ways. Firstly it demonstrates our devotion to Jesus Christ the King of Kings, our loyalty to the British Monarchy (being Protestant), and the ancestory to the house of Israel through the Line of King David.

¨ Harp - The harp is the National Standard of Ireland from the time of Henry VIII, and also the heraldic symbol of County Armagh. It is also widely used in Irish Regimental Badges. This harp is associated with King David (I Samuel 16:23). The woman's head is that of Tea Tephi, the daughter of Zedekiah (the last King of Judah in Jerusalem) who was taken captive to Babylon. History records that Tea Tephi made her escape to Ireland with Jeremiah (famous prophet of the Old Testament), where she married Eochaid the Heremon, a prince of Israelite descent and closely allied with the tribe of Dan. The wings symbolise protection. The harp in our badge has been modified to show six strings - one for each County in Northern Ireland.

¨ Winged Dagger -Damocles' sword of retribution, surrounded by flames.

¨ Flags - The Orange & Purple battle standards are symbolic of the colours of Williams army and of the degrees contained within the Orange Order.

This badge (without the scrolls) is a replica of the original 'K' company of the Ulster Volunteer Force, founded in 1912. (further information to follow.)
