Loyal Orange
Women

The association of Loyal Orange Women of Ireland was formed in the mid 19th Century. It lapsed after a number of years and was then revived in December 1911 at a meeting of the Grand Lodge of Ireland. Permission was given to Mrs Johnston, Co. Cavan to reconvene the association.

The first meeting was called at 12 Rutland Square, Dublin in February 1912 when warrants were issued - No 1 to Sandy Row, No 2 to Ballymacarrett and No 3 to Kingstone in Co Dublin.

The Association increased its membership down the years with county Lodges in all the Northern Counties including two districts in Londonderry City. New Lodges were also opened in counties Donegal and Monaghan over the past few years and these are progressing well.

The sisters subscribe to the Orange Charities. They parade when written invitations from the Brethren have been received and approved by Womens Grand Lodge.

The Grand Lodge officers attended the Triennial Grand Council of the World in September 1994 in New Zeland and were delighted with all the help given and hospitality received.

With gratitude to Sister D. Williamson, G. Mistress of Ireland.
